There are three key core technologies for electric vehicles: power batteries, motors, and control systems. Among them, power batteries are the most crucial, as their performance indicators and economic costs determine the commercialization process of electric vehicles. The main performance of power battery research and development products ranks at the international advanced level, and the battery industry has a strong foundation, but some weak links need to be addressed. Significant progress has been made in the research and development of key technologies, materials, and products for power batteries in China. Compared with international advanced levels such as Japan, the United States, and Germany, the overall level is comparable. Companies such as BYD, Lishen, and Lei Tian have developed two types and multiple series of vehicle power batteries, namely nickel hydrogen and lithium ion, with energy density The main performance indicators such as power density (energy density and power density refer to the energy and power per unit weight, the former determining the range and weight of an electric vehicle, and the latter determining the power performance of the vehicle) rank at the international advanced level. Important progress has also been made in key materials such as electrocatalysts, composite membranes, and bipolar plates. [5]
